Azure Barton, a choreographer from New York City , born and raised in Alberta (Canada) . Received dance education at the National Ballet School in Toronto. Collaborated with Mikhail Baryshnikov , the National Ballet of Canada, the Netherlands Dance Theatre , Martha Graham Dance Company , American Ballet Theatre , Hubbard Street Dance troupe Chicago and other well-known performers and teams. Recently, she has developed a new formulation for the American Dance Theater Alvin Ailey .

Azure Barton gives master classes and creates curricula for schools such as Harvard University, the Juilliard School , New York University and others. Azure Barton actively worked as a choreographer on Broadway, in films and is the founder of her own ballet troupe Azure Barton and Artists .

Performance " AVAA "
Awaa word in the language of the north- western Indians in Canada means " mother." Performance was established in 2012 for seven performers - six men and one woman . It penetrates into the subcortex of human consciousness and explores the major aspects of life : what is the birth of the concept of gender, as it is difficult to live in the shell of the human body . The idea was born from a dream Azur, which she saw when she worked in the Banff Center for the Arts : she rocked in a chair under the water, and suddenly in the same chair instead turned out to one of her dancers.
