Isaac Dunaevsky (Composer)

Dunaevsky Isaac Osipovich [ 18(30).1.1900, Lokhvitsa, now Poltava region, 25.7.1955, Moscow ], Soviet composer, the people artist OF THE RSFSR (1950).

Son of employee. It finished Kharkov conservatory (1919) according to the class Of i. yu. akhron‘s violin; by composition it were occupied u s. S. bogatyreva. Worked as composer and conductor in the Kharkov dramatic theaters.
From 1924 it lived in Moscow, where it led the musical part of the theater of satire. Danube Isaac osipovich - one of the creators of Soviet operetta, the author of 12 works in this genre. Among its works - "fiances" (post 1927), "gold dolina"(post. 1937), that imprinted the means of Soviet young people and, etc. without rejecting the traditions of neovenskoy operetta (I. Kalman, F. legar), Danube Isaac osipovich laid new ways, having tightly connected operetta with the Soviet mass song and the people creation.

Composer introduced into his works large ensembles, expanded finales, orchestral episodes. In the operetta "free wind" (post 1947) Danube Isaac osipovich in this genre for the first time reflected the theme of fight for peace. Among the best operettas Danube Isaac osipovich also the "son of clown" (post 1950), "white acacia" (post 1955).

Most vividly appeared talent Danube Isaac osipovich in the music to the films: "merry Children" (1934), "three Comrades" (1935), "goalkeeper" (1936), "circus" (1936; The State Prize TO THE USSR, 1941), the "children of captain Grant" (1936), "the Volga- Volga" (1938; The State Prize TO THE USSR, 1941), "bright way" (1940), "spring" (1947), "Kuban cossacks" (1950; The State Prize TO THE USSR, 1951) and other composer became one of the creators of Soviet musical comedy film, after making music one of the main components of dramaturgy of film.
