Konstantin Chudovsky (Conductor)

Young Russian conductor Konstantin Chudovsky graduated with honors from Gnesins State Musical College with Valentina Bogdanovskaya and Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory with Boris Kulikov, Vladimir Ponkin, and Gennady Rozhdestvensky.

He is the prize-winner of the All-Russia Contest of Pianists (2002) and in 2007 he was invited to the Moscow State Musical Theatre Helikon Opera as a coach and conductor. In 2010 he won the prize of the National Youth Award Triumph in the nomination of Art and Literature.

Alongside his collaboration with the orchestra of the Helikon Opera, Konstantin Chudovsky has worked with Orchestre de Massy, State Symphony Chapel of Russia, Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, Russian State Orchestra of Cinematography, Kaliningrad Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of Kaliningrad Opera Theatre, Moscow Conservatory Orchestra, The Russian Philharmonic, Orchestra of Pavel Slobodkin’s Centre, Orchestra of N. Satz’s Moscow Theatre, Baku Philharmonic, Tallin State Theatre Orchestra, Estonia’s National Opera Orchestra, the Russian folk orchestra named after A.Osipov, and the orchestra of Teatro Municipal de Santiago.

Among the operatic productions conducted by him are Dialogues de Carmèlites, Rusalka, Aida, Prince Igor (also in his own instrumentation), Wagner’s Das Liebesverbot, Carmen, Falstaff, La traviata, Nabucco, The Queen of Spades, Mazepa, Eugene Onegin, Boris Godunov, Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Le nozze de Figaro, Prokofiev’s Story of a True Hero, U. Giordano’s Siberia, The Tsar's Bride, J. Reise’s Rasputin, Les Contes d’Hoffman, Die Fledermaus, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Mozart and Salieri, Lulu, Janáček’s Vec Makropoulos, The Love for Three Oranges and Shostakovich’s Lady Macbeth from Mtzensk (all in Helikon Opera, Moscow).
Other engagements include Tukhmanov’s Tsarina (Kremlin Theatre, Moscow), Erenberg’s Vampuka, the African Bride, Verdi’s and Mozart’s Requiem, Bauernkantate and Kaffekantate (Arbat, Moscow), Carmen (Theater Bonn), Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Janáček’s Kát’a Kabanová (Teatro Municipal de Santiago in Chile), Rossini’s Il cambiale di matrimonio and La Cenerentola (Theater an der Wien, Austria), Verdi’s Il trovatore (Opéra de Limoges, Opéra de Reims, National Opera of Azerbaijan, Chile), Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov (Chile and Bulgarian National Opera, Sofia).

On international tours, Konstantin Chudovsky conducted Boris Godunov and Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk (Opéra de Massy, France), Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Del Castell de Perelada, Spain), Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Cyprus, Limassol, Nicosia).

He has also led a number of ballets such as Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty, Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring, Kachesov’s Rasputin, Prokofiev’s Cinderella (Opéra de Lyon), Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake (Chile) as well as a vast repertoire of symphonic works including Tchaikovsky’s Symphonies 1,3,4,6, Rachmaninoff’s Symphonies 2,3 and Piano concertos 2,4, Bartok’s Tanzsuite, Shostakovich’s Symphonies 5,14 and Festival Overture, Beethoven’s Symphonies 1,3,5,6,7,8, Butsko’s Symphonies 1,4,5,6, Brahms’ Symphonies 1,3,4 and Violin concerto in D, Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring, and Carmina Burana among others.

Recent and upcoming projects are concerts with works by Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Sibelius, Felix Mendelssohn (National Orchestra of Chile, Santiago), Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, Die Zauberflöte, Madama Butterfly, Cavalleria rusticana, Pagliacci and I due Foscari (Santiago de Chile), Dvorak's Rusalka (Lyon), Madama Butterfly, Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Snow Maiden, Minkus’ La Bayadère, Rigoletto and Tsvetodelika (all in Ekaterinburg).

Since 2013 Konstantin Chudovsky is the Chief Conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Santiago (Orquesta Filarmónica de Santiago).
