Vitaly Panfilov (Tenor)
Biography
Born in Novgorod. In 1999, he completed his studies at the Saint-Petersburg Conservatoire (opera singing class). He sang the part of Vaudemont in a Conservatoire Music Theatre production of Iolanta. He gave a lot of concert appearances with the Saint-Petersburg Philharmonia. These include participation in performances at the Saint-Petersburg Philharmonia Big Hall of: Mozart's Requiem, Verdi's Requiem, Shostakovich's From Jewish Poetry vocal cycle, Bach's St. John's Passion, Handel's Messiah, Schubert masses; Schubert-Denisov's opera Lazarus. He took part in the Temirkanov 60th birthday concert where he sang a duet together with Barbara Hendricks. He tours in Russia and abroad.
In 2003, he made his Bolshoi Theatre debut as Tom Rakewell (Stravinsky’s The Rake's Progress)

In 2008, he sang the part of Prince Vsevolod at the premiere performances of a production of The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and of the Maiden Fevronia for Teatro Lirico di Cagliari and Bolshoi Theatre (Bolshoi Theatre and Teatro Lirico di Cagliari co-production, conductor Alexander Vedernikov, director Eimuntas Nekrosius).
Awards
In 2002, he was awarded the diploma and jury prize of the International Singing Competition (France).
